About the Role
Our Berggruen Planetary team has an internship opportunity for 2025. This is a paid internship at a range of $20 -$22 per hour and will go for 12 weeks starting in May. The BI Institute has a hybrid work environment, therefore the internship will be a combination of both in-office and remote work, as determined by the hiring manager. The internship will be between 20 and 35 hours per week from May 2025 to August 2025 to be agreed upon by the Institute, hiring manager and availability of Intern.
Ideal candidates will be proactive, highly organized, have great attention to detail, and be able to manage multiple projects at once. The internship is a wonderful opportunity for anyone seeking a career in International Relations, Political Science, or Philosophy. Our interns will work collaboratively with one another and participate in program-long learnings that will build skills that they can take with them into their education and work experiences going forward.
Responsibilities
Operational & Project Management Support
Maintain program workflow by joining meetings to support note-taking, capturing meeting action items and next steps. This includes inputting information into the project management tracker and then following up with leads to ensure task completion.
Knowledge Organization
Assist the Planetary Coordinator with developing an archive on Google Drive in order to ensure easy access to research materials, reports, case studies, and more
Label, tag, and categorize written abstracts related to an upcoming book project, creating a system that supports publication planning
Content Development
Work with the Planetary team to compile, organize, and standardize key assets to support the build out of an evergreen repository of materials to support external communications and outreach. This can include:
- Reviewing transcripts from existing public and internal video content captured by Studio B to identify potential clips for information channels
- Reviewing, synthesizing, and flagging articles written by people in the Planetary network for cross-posting on our social media channels or as reference for our work
- Support the documentation and after-action reporting process for Planetary events by taking notes during meetings and workshops and helping organize key takeaways. Information will be synthesized into formal internal and external communications.
Skills
- Highly organized with excellent verbal and written skills
- Comfortable with supervision, but can also work independently
- A proactive self-starter who can multitask, take initiative and problem solve
- Has extensive computer skills - experience with Google Suite and Microsoft Tools
- Understanding that no task is too small
- A collaborative communicator
- An ability to juggle multiple assignments without details falling through the cracks
Effective cross-departmental communication skills
Salary Range: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour depending on skills and experience.
