About the Role

Our Berggruen Communications team has an internship opportunity for 2025. This is a paid internship at a range of $20 -$22 per hour and will go for 12 weeks starting in May. The BI Institute has a hybrid work environment, therefore the internship will be a combination of both in-office and remote work, as determined by the hiring manager. The internship will be between 20 and 35 hours per week from May 2025 to August 2025 to be agreed upon by the Institute, hiring manager and availability of Intern.

Ideal candidates will be proactive, highly organized, have great attention to detail, and be able to manage multiple projects at once. The internship is a wonderful opportunity for anyone seeking a career in Communications, Marketing, or Operations. Our interns will work collaboratively with one another and participate in program-long learnings that will build skills that they can take with them into their education and work experiences going forward.

Responsibilities

Operational & Project Management Support

  • Provide general, tactical support to Design/Comms on project management tasking / board updates and would have one key deliverable at the end of their internship:
    - Timeline / About Us Project: This person would work to generate storylines for this proposed feature upgrade on the web and also generate storytelling opportunities across our platforms (social executions, giveaway/merch, a video "report" using the archives)
  • Documentation / SOP: Create info doc that lives on the Intranet and answers what gets added / process for submission & formats
  • Support on internal communications (ie. intranet, company-wide emails, and meeting support)

Knowledge Organization

  • Library / Resources Content Support: Improve tagging and organization
  • Formatting / Cataloging: Reformat images / text as needed and tag content on the backend
  • Collecting and developing “learning tracks” on the Website and YouTube
  • Landscape Analysis: Best practices and content examples from other institutions / industry based on the needs we defined in our workshop
  • Write copy/summaries for webpages and emails

Skills

  • Highly organized with excellent verbal and written skills
  • Comfortable with supervision, but can also work independently
  • A proactive self-starter who can multitask, take initiative and problem solve
  • Has extensive computer skills - experience with Google Suite and Microsoft Tools
  • Understanding that no task is too small
  • A collaborative communicator
  • An ability to juggle multiple assignments without details falling through the cracks
  • Effective cross-departmental communication skills

Salary Range

$20.00 - $22.00 per hour depending on skills and experience.
